To mark their 25th Anniversary, international wildlife charity the Born
Free Foundation in conjunction with The Black and White Galleries, is releasing to the public a back catalogue of unique photographs for the first time.

The photos feature an eclectic mix of subjects and are taken by a wide variety of photographers. Born Free would like to thank them for their kind permission for their use.

The Foundation has a unique and very special history. In 1964, Bill
Travers and Virginia McKenna travelled to Kenya to star in the classic wildlife film 'Born Free', based on the best-selling book by Joy Adamson. Their close contact with lions sparked a lifelong commitment to wildlife and they realised wild animals belong in the wild, not incarcerated in captivity.

Together they launched the Born Free Foundation in 1984, which 25 years on is in action worldwide to save lives, stop suffering and rescue individuals. Born Free works to phase out zoos and protect lions, elephants, gorillas, tigers, wolves, bears, chimpanzees, marine turtles and much more in their natural habitat.
